Jan, 2014:

The FAA has suspended introducing a new Sleep Apnea Policy.

The FAA was asking that all airmen/pilots have a BMI (Body Mass Index) calculated at the time of their exam. If the BMI is greater than or equal to 40, the FAA would require an evaluation by a Board Certified Sleep Specialist.

Please discuss with Dr. Archuleta any concerns you may have about meeting this potential new requirement if it is reinstated.
